LAICA was founded in 1974 by Leonida Moretto and his wife Teresa, who started their business by producing a small range of kitchen scales in their hometown of Vicenza.

Their passion and care for the product at every stage of its production resulted in the rapid growth of the company and soon the product range was expanded with personal scales. In 1992, the management of the company passed to the next generation of the family and current directors, Maurizio and Anna Maria, who significantly expanded and diversified the product range, paying particular attention to medical devices for home use. Over the years, the company has acquired an international profile, focusing on research and product innovation. Thanks to its experience in the field of home medical devices, the new generation of LAICA introduced a water filtration system developed with a scientific approach to the market. A simple, safe and technologically advanced filtration system to improve tap water quality.

Over the last ten years, LAICA has embarked on a process of growth and consolidation that has led to the opening of branches in Europe and Asia and the creation of an international sales network. Today, LAICA products are sold on all five continents.

In addition to designing technologically advanced and reliable products, LAICA has always been involved in work that assesses environmental sustainability, human rights and quality of life.

In 2020, LAICA joined the Strix Group, a marriage of its expertise in domestic filtration with the advanced technology of Strix, the world leader in water heating and boiler safety systems. The two companies came together because of their shared values, striving together for a future with safe and sustainable products that improve people's daily lives.
